Ketika Anda selesai bersepeda, data bisa diupload ke akun Connact melalui aplikasi baik iOS maupun Android, sama seperti model 810 / 510, namun Garmin Edge 1000 kini telah menambahkan fitur WiFi yang memudahkan Anda mengupload data map tanpa harus menggunakan kabel USB. Daya tahan baterai hingga 15 jam, layar dapat diputar dan dilihat baik pada mode potrait maupun horisontal.
Salah satu fitur keamanan paling penting adalah aplikasi LiveTrack, yang dapat merekam lokasi dimana Anda berada secara real time. Kemudian secara mudah dishare melalui media social maupun email dari Garmin Connect dan teman dan keluarga akan dapat dengan mudah melihat dimana Anda sekarang berada. Edge 1000 juga menyediakan aksesoris remote kecil. Remote ini memudahkan Anda melakukan kontrol GPS, tanpa harus melepas tangan dari handle bar.
